i'm bored n hungry

know what i love to do when i get sick of the routine? look up yummy recipes!!!
and guess what - i'm bored right now.....
here's today's pick - sinful n yummy!!!

Espresso Chocolate Mousse
Servings: 6
6 ounces semisweet chocolate
1/3 cup espresso or 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee
1/3 cup boiling water
4 large eggs separated
3 tablespoons sugar

Put the chocolate and espresso in food processor fitted with steel blade, or a blender, and process for a few seconds until chocolate is finely chopped. With the machine running, pour the boiling water in through the top, and continue processing for several more seconds, until the chocolate is completely melted. Add the egg yolks and process until well mixed. In a medium sized bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar and continue beating until stiff. Fold chocolate into whites until no streaks of white remain. Turn into serving dishes, and chill for several hours until firm.
Then go weigh yourself and promise to go to the gym!

Leonardo was fun :)

about 2 months ago, i FINALLY got to read the book that i'd been dying to read - the Da Vinci code. Apart from wanting to know what all the fuss was about, i was genuinely curious about it, having heard so much controversial stuff about it.
my opinion? it was un-put-downable!!!! set aside the controversial topic and it was like any other good crime thriller, comlete with deceit, car chases, codes, plot twists and the mandatory blossoming romance (which kinda ruined the end for me :( ...)
but most of all, the one thing that struck me was that if what i read here was true, then leonardo da vinci must have been one fun guy....imagine sneaking in double-entendre and secret messages in seemingly innocent masterpieces.....what a clever mischief-monger!
and do i believe what the book says? wellll.....i've always said it's important to keep an open mind - it makes life interesting ;)

Good friendship

This morning, i got one of those irritating Fraandshiphs requests on orkut. so what's new, u ask? this time the guy had a logical explanation to convince me.
Apparently, i simply MUST add him if i want a 'good' friendship.
Oh wow!! and here i've been thinking that i'm only supposed to have bad friendships...shoot, why didn't anyone tell me!!!
Seriously!!!! ;)

Common sense ain't that common after all

I saw something strange a couple of evenings ago, on my way home from work - a large crowd gathered at a corner, spilling onto the road and holding up traffic...and flashlights going off at random! I didn't get to see what was happening, though, coz we just zoomed the other way.
The madness came to light in the next day's headlines.....they were bringing down "unauthorized" billboards :I Tell me, how does a 70x 30 feet billboard stare down at you for years without proper authorization? And did a whole bunch of people have an "aha!!" moment when they realised there were 10,000 such cases?
Of course, the icing on the cake is when those humongous political cutouts and makeshift billboards go up...logic takes a backseat and even existing bilboards are blocked off. I've experienced this frustration firsthand when our 4 lakh a month billboard was blocked off to display one of the regular grinning faces of a political bigwig. Of course, living as we are in such a wonderful country, we were told to "adjust please, coz nothing could be done". How many times have i wished i could take an axe to them in the dead of the night!
Wonder how "authorized" these are ;)

I did it!

i know it's pretty late in the day to be jumping onto the blogging bandwagon, and yet here i am! Which makes me wonder, do i really want to do this or is it just the urge to try it out? i guess only time will tell :)

i did find that i often needed a place to park my musings, views and general "letting-off-steam" sessions....at such times i'd wish i had a blog to do so. I've also been known to be sometimes sarcastic, which for some reason people find funny....maybe i'll try it here and see how the world of bloggers reacts ;)

so wish me luck and keep the suggestions/responses coming!!!
